The old town of Nafplio is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved old towns in Greece! But what's even more interesting is its history. Walking in the alleys of Nafplio you will find the church of Agios Spyridon, outside of which Ioannis Kapodistrias was murdered. One of the most important buildings you will come across during your walk is Vouleftiko, one of the few buildings of Turkish architecture in which the First Greek Parliament was housed. Do not forget to pass by the First Gymnasium and the First Pharmacy of modern Greece, but also by the Great Road and the Land Gate.

If you wish to spend holidays with the whole family, then Nafplio is a great destination! The town is very easy to walk and safe for young children, since most of the old town is pedestrianised and there are no vehicles allowed. Many parents prefer Syntagma Square where there are many cafes and restaurants, but also plenty of space for children to play. In the town there are also many parks with playgrounds, while you will find many activities for the whole family, such as touring the town on a hop-on hop-off train, renting quadracycles, as well as touring the town on a carriage.

In the surrounding areas of Nafplio, you will find beaches for all tastes! Some more and others less crowded, with beach bars, cafes and taverns or more secluded, in the surrounding beaches you will surely find the one for you! Visit the beach of Arvanitia, a beach in the town of Nafplio, where you can reach on foot, Karathona beach located just outside the town, the beaches of Tolo, just 12km from Nafplio, and Kondili or Agios Nikolaos, a beach with turquoise waters and beautiful views just 17km away.
